We have much to celebrate this year!... We congratulate our eighth grade graduates. We also say farewell and congratulations to our 6th graders who are moving on to Academic Centers. Our sixth and eighth graders have worked hard during their years at Skinner. We are confident that they are well prepared for the next step in their academic careers and wish them much success in their future. Read below for more details of our recent celebrations.

Our Superstars at all grade levels continue to represent in the community with strong academics, artistic ability, athleticism, talent and service  Our Superstars are diverse and well-rounded and we are proud of their accomplishments outside of Skinner.

Lastly, we are so proud and grateful for our new annex ! Thanks to our parents, community members,  Mayor Emanuel and Alderman Burnett, we now have classroom space or all of our programs.

It's been another marvelous school year thanks to all of you. Now it's time to enjoy a little break for summer to rest , relax and get rejuvenated for Superstar year 2019-2020 !

Happy Summer to All !

This week we celebrated the graduation of our 8th grade class.  Our Superstars will matriculate to some very amazing high schools. We apologize that Whitney Young High School was inadvertently not included last week on the list of high schools that our graduates will be attending next year.  CONGRATULATIONS Class of 2019!  On behalf of the entire community, we wish you all the success in the world!

This week our 6th graders held their '6th grade celebration'!  Our students performed, gave speeches about their 6th grade year and handed out some very special awards to their classmates!  The rising 7th graders spent the afternoon enjoying the great weather while signing each others t-shirts!  The group, coined as most 'supportive and sensitive class,' by the teachers are excited about next year!  We wish you all unparalleled success as you all continue your middle school journey!

On June 17, 2019 Skinner West Kindergartners walked across the stage as Mrs. Clark and Mrs. Robinson promoted them to first grade! Our kindergarten Superstars did a wonderful job singing in their "Motown" theme graduation! "How Sweet it is To be a Skinner West Superstar!" Congratulations kindergartners!

Please find attached the ancillary school supply list for 2019/20.  We will post school supply lists by mid-August on our website & newsletter.  And don't forget -- FOSW is offering school supplies through Yubbler again this year!  It's a super easy way to have everything delivered to you, but best of all, a portion of the proceeds benefit Skinner West.

Help us collect supply lists!  Scan your child's list and email it to skinnerwest@gmail.com.  List the Grade, Program (Classical or Neighborhood) and room number.  We'll start posting lists as we collect them.
